"We do not choose exile. We love our land. We love its way of life, and its water, and its air... We don't have allies to help get it back, but we have our voices and our love”. (Azawad, Tuareg rebel)
The Tuareg, often named as the “Bleu People of the Desert”, for centuries lived as nomads able to survive in one of the hardest places of the world to live: the Sahara Desert. Today they are in danger and it is often
trough the Music that they tell their story and communicate their sufferance to the world. During the concert, the Tuareg chants will be singed from Esharef Alì Mahgag (exile Itself in Italy) accompanied from Ivano Fortuna with African percussions and will dialogue with the wonderful music of G. F. Haendel, the German baroque composer that lived most of his life far from his country in London in a sort musical exile.
The Concert will create an intense atmosphere. The audience seated on a large carpet surrounded by musicians will be asked not to applaud at the end of the pieces and will be led in a musical interaction with the musicians, singing and carries out rhythmic actions. Music, participation and silence: the alchemy of the contrasts and emotions of a journey through diverse musical worlds without words. This is Ad.agio.
